Bangabandhu Satellite Paragraph

Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is the first-ever Bangladeshi geostationary communication satellite. It was designed and manufactured by French manufacturer Thales Alenia Space. It was launched on May 12, 2018, from Florida of America. Its local ground stations are in Bethbhunia and Gazipur in Bangladesh. Positioned at the 119.1 east geostationary slots, BS-1 can provide strong coverage for the SAARC countries and Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkestan, and a part of Kazakhstan. Bangladesh Government has assigned Bangladesh communication Satellite company Limited to operate BS-1. With the successful stationing of Bangabandhu Satellite-1, Bangladesh has become the 57 the-country in the world to have its satellite in space. It has already opened up vast business opportunities for the country and ended up our dependency on foreign satellites. BS-1 provides direct-to-home service for TV channels, VSAT backhaul and network restoration disaster preparedness and relief, and many other services. For these services, Bangladesh was dependent on foreign satellites which also costs us 14M per year. But now, Bangladesh has not only achieved self-dependency in the field of broadcast and telecommunication but also can make money by renting the unused bandwidth to other countries. We all hope that BS-1 would play a significant role in the overall department of the country.
